News PBL & JSP



The interested of foreign students to know more about Indonesian culture is increasing. It is proven by the total of foreign students who follow Project Based Learning (PBL) and Joint Summer Program (JSP) are pretty much. There are 30 foreign students from 4 different countries who follow the programs.

“PBL and JSP are followed by foreign students from 4 different countries, ie Malaysia, Taiwan, Philippines, and Brunei Darussalam. And also from different universities.” Said the Vice Rector III, Prof. Dana S. Saroso after opened the PBL and JSP programs at Universitas Mercu Buana, Jakarta, on Monday (August 21th 2017).

In his speech, Prof. Dana S. Saroso says that PBL and JSP are the first program that held by Ministry of Higher Education in cooperation with Universitas Mercu Buana and Universitas Indonesia.

He continued that through these programs, all the participants of PBL and JSP will directly learn about Indonesian culture from the art perspective and the architecture. So the programs also lead to these activities.

“More interesting is the participants will directly look at the location where the culture is implemented. For example seeing the architectural style of Kampung Naga (Naga Village), all the participants will also directly visit the village.” He added.

The activities of these programs are batik, photography, historical building architecture, and original local building architecture. All the activities are packed in fun way.
